- Can genuinely be cheaper if the clinic has a volume relationship with a recovery house or massage provider and passes some of that savings on.

- You only pay for what you actually need. If you already have a companion providing care, you may not need a full-service recovery house.
- Easier to compare a specific line item (like recovery house nightly rate) against independent options to check you're not being overcharged.
The comparison that actually matters
Don't compare a package price against a surgeon's-fee-only price — that's comparing two different things. Take any package price and break it into its component parts (surgeon's fee, recovery house nights × nightly rate, garments, massages), then compare that itemized total against what you'd pay booking each piece independently. The package is worth it only if the sum of its parts, at fair independent pricing, is close to or more than what you're being quoted.
A practical way to check
Ask the clinic to itemize their package. Then independently price the recovery house component using our recovery house guide. If the per-night rate implied by the package is noticeably higher than independent options for comparable quality, you're paying a markup for convenience — which may still be worth it to you, but it's worth knowing.
